Can you actually talk your parents into visiting your state? Past students have with their persuasive letters, will you be the next one? Write a letter to a parent/guardian to persuade them to visit your state for summer vacation. The letter must be a minimum of 5 paragraphs and use proper letter format, spelling, and punctuation.
Your letter should start with an introductory paragraph that contains a good hook to get your audience's attention. Think about why your family chooses places to visit and what excites them. Use this to pull them into your letter. The middle of your letter should contain 3 supporting paragraphs, each one focusing on a different reason to visit. Three different amusement parks do not make for three paragraphs. They would need to be tied together into one paragraph about amusement parks. Amusement parks, national parks, museums, famous land marks, and regional food are some of the ideas that we brainstormed for good supporting paragraphs subjects. Wrap your letter up with a conclusion paragraph that reviews your main points and wraps up your letter. Remember that this is a persuasive letter so you should find multiple factors to try to sway your intended audience to visit your state. Use details to support your cause and spark interest in your reader. Good luck and HAVE FUN!
